Forza Fiorentina!

About a month ago my roommates and I went to a soccer game here in Florence and it was such a fun experience! I am not a big soccer fan but knowing how the Italians are such intense soccer fans, there was no way I could pass up this opportunity. I went to the Firenze vs. Napoli game (Florence vs. Naples), and these two teams are huge rivals. Before the game starts, the stadium sings a regional song and it was so much fun to listen to the whole stadium sing with pride for Fiorentina pride. The Naples fans were secluded in their own section blocked off from everyone else, with lines of security on both sides of them. I have never been to a sporting event with more passion than an Italian soccer game. The noise and cheering the Naples section made when they made their goals is incomparable to anything else I have ever heard; it was incredible. Florence played terrible and lost, but it was still an awesome experience and I would love to go to another game!
