Mother Knows Best

First off, I must give a huge thanks to my amazing mother who insisted I pack a few things that I said I would never need. Mom, the long underwear you made me pack (that I said I would never wear) has been a lifesaver last night and today, and I'm sure it will continue to keep me warm! Love you!

Today was day two of orientation and it was great! They gave us a "crash course" in Italian with some common phrases and words that will help us get around until we start to learn the language. Some of the teachers also took us on a tour near our school showing us local shops, places to eat, and how to distinguish fresh food/gelato from food that is not made daily.

Aside from the amazing architecture and delicious food, I have found another aspect of Florence that I love: the fashion. Women are always very put together and classy, and the majority of men wear fitted menswear on a daily basis; it is all very refreshing compared to how people dress in the US. It is also Fashion Week here in Florence so maybe that is why I am seeing so many people dressed up in classy attire, but either way it is very refreshing to see.

Tomorrow I am going with my school to a castle for some wine tasting, I will be sure to take lots of pictures!

Arrivaderci!
